I ate a lot of great meals in 2019, but my favorite was prepared by Chef Dominick and his staff in a little place on the San Francisco waterfront - Embarcadero to be exact. After I insisted that the waiter give my compliments to the chef, Chef Dominick came by my table to introduce himself. I quickly realized he was not a native Californian - but he was from New York - and more specifically, born in the Bronx.
Dominick earned his chops throughout the NYC restaurant world cooking in some of the finest establishments, including Soho House New York, Salinas, Blue Hills at Stone Farms and other top spots like Coqueta San Francisco (this meal I’m referring to above), Meigas, Ibiza, etc.
Chef Dominick Maietta also landed a 6-year run (and counting) of back-to-back Michelin Bib Gourmand designations. In his spare time, Chef Dominick is doing - guess what - more cooking with fiance, and volunteering his time with the Wellness in the Schools program.
What did we eat that earned Dominick this coveted rating?
Congratulations to Chef Dominick Maietta!
